GE Lighting has said that it expects sales of LED bulbs to increase by 150 per cent in the coming months.
According to lighting.co.uk, the company's chief executive officer Phil Marshall said that the company is to adopt a cautious approach to acquisitions given the uncertainty in the market.
The company plans to develop solutions in green technology, and is "excited", rather than concerned about the far eastern LED chip makers entering the market, claiming that it will help the industry as a whole grow.
Mr Marshall said at the opening of GE's European Lighting Experience Centre in Hungary that the he would rather be in the position his company is in, with 130 year of experience, than be a new player in the market.
"We've been investing on a smaller and more organic scale to build up our system capability," he added.
The LED market is to be one of the main topics at next year's Strategies in Light expo, which will be hosted in Santa Clara, California.
