A powerful new LED Bulb is being showcased by a leading manufacturer at this year's Flat Panel Display International in Japan.
Wellypower, a leading LED manufacturer, is displaying its Ceres LED lamp, which has a 270-degree emission angle. The Taiwanese firm claims that traditional LED bulbs only have an emission angle of 150 degrees.
According to Digitimes, sales of LED lighting currently accounts for ten per cent of Wellypower's total revenue, but the company hopes this can be brought up to 50 per cent in the future.
The bulb's colour is primarily white, but it can also be designed to display warm yellow.
Since the Japanese earthquake in March, there has been a high demand for energy saving products in the country, reports the magazine. Wellypower hopes to enter the Chinese and Japanese markets soon to cater for this demand.
Aurora Lighting recently displayed its new range of modular LED downlighting solutions at the Hong Kong Light Fair 2011.
